SBC Advertising Wins Silver ADDY in Regional Competition

Columbus, OH (April 26, 2006) – SBC Advertising was recognized with a silver ADDY award in the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) District 5 regional competition. The Elmer's Woodworking Toolbox, which was a finalist in the Columbus Advertising Federation's local competition, competed against nearly 600 other entries from Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.

"It helps when you have a client with a tremendous commitment to new products. This silver medal really goes to the folks over at Elmer's," said Matt Wilson, co-owner/general manager of SBC Advertising.

The Elmer's Woodworking Toolbox is a specialized press kit designed for editors at the top do-it-yourself (DIY) media outlets. The mailing "cut through the clutter" and increased visibility for Elmer's hardware/woodworking line. The wooden Elmer's-branded toolbox featured products, media background information and a challenge for recipients to complete their own "you do it better with Elmer's" project. Each editor received a picture frame kit and was encouraged to assemble the frame using a mixture of the featured Elmer's products.

The Toolbox earned more than 11 million media impressions through placements in top-tier magazines including American Woodworker, The Family Handyman, Handy and Woodworking for Women. In addition, it was positively endorsed by industry leaders including Bob Vila, The Carey Brothers, Gary Sullivan and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The ADDY Awards is the largest creative competition in the country with approximately 55,000 local entries competing in more than 200 cities coast to coast. The district level is the second step in competing for a national ADDY trophy. More than 1,500 finalists will compete in the national ADDY awards.

At the local level, the Columbus Advertising Federation recognized SBC with 11 finalist entries in addition to the Elmer's Toolbox. These included: Baldwin Archetypes Brochure; Baldwin Archetypes Direct Mail; AAA President's Cruise Invitation; Armstrong WoodHaven logo; Wayne-Dalton Ice Cream Mailer; SBC Holiday Card; Armstrong Michelangelo Event; Bob Evans Store Interior Signs; Wayne-Dalton Inspire Cube; Baldwin Passport and SBC Retail Advertising Conference Lanyards.
